Indigo Girls & Amos Lee Tour

Indigo Girls & Amos Lee

  • Sat - Sep 21st - 7:00 pm

Indigo Girls and Amos Lee are teaming up for a string of major North American amphitheater dates in September 2024. The tour kicks off September 15 at the world-renowned Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, CO and moves west from there with notable stops at Los Angeles’ Greek Theater, Santa Barbara Bowl on Saturday, September 21, and Oregon’s Edgefield Amphitheater.

The artists will rotate who performs the closing set each night depending on the market.

The September amphitheater dates are a natural continuation of the momentum both Amos Lee and Indigo Girls are carrying into the new year.

Released this November, Amos Lee’s new album, Honeysuckle Switches: The Songs of Lucinda Williams, pays deep homage to his “songwriting hero.” The success of 2022’s Dreamland brought Lee to national television audiences on Good Morning America, The Kelly Clarkson Show, Rachael Ray and The Late Late Show with James Corden and spawned a long, successful year of touring. Recording Honeysuckle Switches was both a grounding and healing experience. The lead single “Greenville,” is Lee’s take on the classic Williams/Emmylou Harris collaboration from her 1998 masterpiece Car Wheels On A Gravel Road. Listen here.

Indigo Girls began 2023 with a performance on NPR Tiny Desk followed by a direct flight to the Sundance Film Festival where their career-spanning documentary, It’s Only Life After All, premiered in the coveted opening night slot to rave reviews and a standing ovation. The film has screened at major festivals across the globe, including Tribeca Festival, SXSW, and Toronto’s Hot Docs. Indigo Girls’ music takes center stage in another upcoming film, the jukebox musical romance Glitter & Doom. Directed by Tom Gustafson (Were the World Mine, Frameline32), Glitter & Doom boasts a star-studded queer supporting cast featuring Lea DeLaria, Tig Notaro, Kate Pierson of The B-52s, RuPaul's Drag Race alum Peppermint, and even a cameo from the Indigo Girls themselves. Both Glitter & Doom and It’s Only Life After All will be released to general audiences in 2024. The prominent featuring of Indigo Girls’ signature hit “Closer to Fine” in Greta Gerwig’s blockbuster film Barbie prompted a surge of renewed interest and press around Indigo Girls’ music including interviews by NPR's All Things Considered, the New York Times, Variety, and more. The attention brought the folk icons' music to millions of new listeners, triggering percentage leaps in the band’s streaming numbers and new fans to their first Indigo Girls concert ever.

The pairing of Amos Lee and Indigo Girls offers music lovers an exceptional opportunity to spend a night immersed in world-class singing and songwriting.
